Man, that is a cool model. I'm considering completely stealing your color scheme for him. lol
What do they say? Imitation is the highest form of flattery? Haha

Nicely done! I like the different metals used on him. That's not something I'd have thought of.

mattmcdThanks. If it goes to that, the main skin color is GW's Skavenblight Dinge highlighted with Stormvermin Fur. Nice earthy colors to work with. tapecrawlerThanks! I kinda figured slags eat pretty much every metal they come across so I thought it would show in some way. Plus it was a nice excuse to buy more metallic paints, I do love those.

I got fed up with painting rats temporarily so I decided to show my fenns some love for a change. Missing some basecoats and looooads of highlights still. Gonna do the tartan pattern with green and some off-white color. That red turned out good, though. My goal is to finish at least a min unit of them in a somewhat timely fashion so I can actually play them. However, "in a timely fashion" and being a serial procrastinator is a bad combination.

Long time no see. Kinda funny to see my last post mentioning painting fennblades in a timely fashion, considering I've finished only TWO. Bad image quality is bad. A better picture will come once I have at least that minimum unit done. Whenever that'll be. It's not exactly visible but the tartans ended up being red with green patterns. They didn't really need any other color, it would've just made them look busy af. I have way too many painting projects.

I have to admit, when I read green trolls I was very skeptic about it. But after your superb job in shading and contrast work, they turned out amazing.
I like the skin tone especially; not to choppy with smooth transitions. Gives them a life-like appearence, and not cartoon like as mentioned previously.
In the PP theme I've noticed some of the warlocks are albino-ish. Do you have plans to make some future warlocks a different skin tone?

bluebeardThanks! I gotta admit I've had my worries due to going green since I was kinda afraid they might end up looking like orcs (or orks, orruks, whatever you wanna call them) but... I guess they didn't in the end lol. Gotta say, I hadn't thought about doing different skin colors for warlocks but now I'm kinda interested to do so. I've already done darker skin for a slag troll so going light isn't too far fetched. Might actually try it in the future and I do have a chronicler waiting to be painted...

bluebeardMight actually try it in the future and I do have a chronicler waiting to be painted... I will be patiently waiting, but I definitely wanna see how it turns out. Part of me wants to do different skin tones for each troll, like humans that come in a variety of hues. But not 100% committed to that kind of endeavor...haha

bluebeardHaha, might take a while with all the stuff I have to paint but I'll get to it. ...eventually. Hmm, I don't think it would be that difficult. Just couple different basic skintones combined with different colored washes could easily do the trick and diluting the washes gives even more options. Not to mention mixing them to get completely new colors.
