Maelok the Dreadbound - WB: +28 - Blind Walker - PC: 12 - Blind Walker - PC: 12 - Blackhide Wrastler - PC: 16 - Bull Snapper - PC: 5
Gatorman Witch Doctor - PC: 4 Gatorman Witch Doctor - PC: 4 Bog Trog Mist Speaker - PC: 0 Totem Hunter - PC: 0
Gatorman Posse - Leader & 2 Grunts: 10 Gatorman Posse - Leader & 2 Grunts: 10 Gatorman Posse - Leader & 2 Grunts: 10 Gatorman Posse - Leader & 2 Grunts: 10 Gatorman Posse - Leader & 2 Grunts: 10 ---------
I'll be giving this a test run. I have great experience with that Maelok beast loadout + Mistspeaker. I've been running him with Boomhowlers but the buff to posse means I'll use 'em!

It seems a lot like an awkward fix to Gators being not so good anymore. Again, it seems like part of PPs recent issue of refusing to back down on things they've stated ("5 boxes is fiiiiine guuuyyys") but still being defensive and not admitting that they screwed up. Keep in mind that if Gators had 8 boxes and snacking by default then Helga could put defenders ward on them or Sturm could give them polarity shield/deceleration. Might be a little toooo good in that case.

I had been planning on running Maelok with pig infantry, but this definitely changes that plan! However, I think he wants a max unit to easily get the most out of Death Pact, right?
Maelok Wrastler - 16 Wrastler - 16 Swamp Horror - 14 Blind Walker - 12 Max Posse - 17 Shamblers - 11 Wrong Eye & Snapjaw - 17 Totem Hunter or Thrullg - 0
It's a little awkward as I had planned to run Maelok much shootier in MK3, but honestly, that looks like a pretty intense list to me. Or at least, decent enough for my purposes, and easy to play. Thoughts?
You could also swap WE&SJ for another Posse unit, and get both the Totem Hunter and the Thrullg as a result (or a Witch Doc to make them undead).

Yup, that's the attitude I despise from PP. Anyway, got a SR next weekend and just ordered 2 more unit of posses for the heck of it. Won't bring Rask if he isn't fixed till then, but Jaga-Jaga and Calaban will do the trick.

Thought he was lacklusting but the theme force bring him some nasty meat wall + ARM buff. Gonna have to do more testing with him.

I'll let you know how my game goes with him coming up = ) but unfortunately I have to theory craft quite a bit with how often I get to play, so I'd love to hear if others can test it! On paper, this theme Makes Posse Great Again, especially with Maelok since he can both buff their ARM even further (by +4 on feat turn) And solve their lack of Pathfinder on his feat turn.
On the note of theme forces, could any kind soul point me to where I can see the particulars of the Farrow theme force? I saw it listed on the old forum, but of course that's gone now...

I'll have a book worth of notes to post later today, but I cannot say that I am a huge fan of running a ton of min units because it makes your buffs more expensive.

So, the only buff that gets more expensive is fury correct? I mean You could run almost he same list with 4 max posse and swamp gobbers bellows crew and be down only one gator, but I really like the notion of 21 gators running froward and then killing the world (or all the infantry anyways). Plus it lets you spread out a lot more with your posse having the 7 min units, meaning you can get some pretty weird angles going and avoid high pow blasts. I'm not saying its perfect, but if you want to maximize the posse that's the way to go.

I'm not saying its perfect, but if you want to maximize the posse that's the way to go. Correct. We are sort of debating two different sides of the same coin--my Rask dojo is ridiculously similar to yours. The thing is though that even with this buff, and it is a fantastic buff, Posse are not back up to Mk2 standards, and back then the only list we saw with the min units was Barney and Friends. And even that started out as a janky idea that had surprising legs. I am generally unconvinced that even with the change Posse are worth taking without caster support (i.e. Rasks feat, fury, veil of mists); and without base Pathfinder, at least in my area's terrain, I am wary of making them my whole plan. So I moderated myself to merely taking 3 max units. All that being said, these are knee jerk reactions without any playtesting. Go! Table time! Prove me wrong with reptilian might!!!

That's very fair, we have tons of terrain on our tables to so I understand where your coming from, I'm probably going to try the 4 max posse today and get back to everyone, but I think this gonna have lots of legs (at least 40!)

Oh yeah, like I said our lists were near identical.
