Yeah - pure speculation on my part, anhow. It's very possible that they just let it slide and not worry about it.
Back to the theme...
I feel that MacBaine is superior in Irregulars than he is in Kingmakers. MacBain's Feat works best with Solos. The solos in Kingmakers work...ok with MacBain, but are not really optimal. Having basically unfettered access to free solos that work better with his Feat is really strong for him.
I thought none of the theme lists were going to go throug CID until after they were all released. Kinda like "here's your stuff, let us know if anything is broken"?
Otherwise it will take a while before we all get those lists in War Room
The theme lists are being released in a huge wave in September. They will all be tournament legal, and will be included in things like War Room. Eventually all the Themes will make it into CID at some point in the future, but in the meantime, they will be considered "official"
After the 12 Factions of CID is resolved, the next to be included is a Convergence Theme (presumably their infantry theme?) - or at least that's what the word on the street is,
I agree, I'm really liking the look of MacBain in this theme. Being able to take Kayazy and Boomhowlers with his compliment of jacks to taste will end up paying for the combat solos he WANTS for that sweet feat action.
Shame Jack Marshals suck donkey balls otherwise I might actually have taken them. No power up, no focus, it's just bad.
Could someone please convince me otherwise?
Because in certain configurations, the Jack Marshal bonuses and Drives are actually superior to Focus. You just have actually play them on the table once in a while, instead of being blinded by the admittedly easy-to-use Power Up mechanic.
Most melee jacks have two attacks as a base, so getting Flank on both attacks is straight up superior to boosting - as well as costing the Caster precisely zero Focus resources. Cheap jacks like Talons and Buccaneers are great for this, and even more expensive jacks like the Mangler can generate tons of quasi-Focus when it uses Thresher.
EDIT - this is not directed at you, flogger, just to be clear. Too often players of this game just parrot internet group think, rather than actually playing around and experimenting with things. Now we have a Theme that gives us a pretty serious bonus for Jack Marshalling, so no time like the present.
Marshalled freebooters are something I want to try. The accuracy bonus from flank, speed bonus, and then +2 accuracy from charging really ensures they get the combo throw off. And if your target is already knocked down they can be used as a second wave: walk 7" up, buy an extra attack with +2 damage to all attacks. With trash and flank that is really going to be fun.
I suspect the rover also gets flank from point blank?
