I'm relocating to Kalamazoo soon, and looking for a community. Is this cluster an unrealistic distance?
I ask because I'm coming from Hawaii, and don't know anything that isn't on the 80 from the region. If it is too far, anyone got a lead on the Western Michigan scene?

Kalamazoo is about 3 hours from where I am at Findlay unfortunately. Hopefully you are able to find a community up there closer to you.

Yah Kalamazoo is a bit far. On the bright side they look to be in striking range of An Arbor, which I know has a worthwhile-ish store, even if I've only been there once. Honestly it looks big enough to have an in-city meta.

Got it.
On a different note, what are the big regional events with a high turn-out, aside from Gen Con? What time of the year is it?

Hi guys, I'm in Perrysburg. (Bottom of Toledo) I'm a pretty casual gamer with some Cygnar, Khador, Cryx, Mercs, Trolls, and Legion.
My ability to game is pretty spotty due to Real Life(tm) but I might be able to get in a game or two in. Let me forewarn you: my NW OH geography sucks. I moved up here from the Dayton area (and the AWESOME gaming stores!) and I have yet to really learn the lay of the land.

Hi there!
Glad to see more people in the area. Since Perrysburg is kind-of stapled to Toledo though, you're much closer to, say, the Toledo Game Room up in Sylvania than you are to Findlay/Fostoria.
That's just my impression though, I'm the scrub who makes the inverse trip every once in a blue moon. I don't host games though so I really probably shouldn't speak of it either way.

I'm in Detroit proper, and I know of a fair number of gaming stores that meet in the area. I normally do Tuesday nights, but I also know of a store that does Wednesdays and another one that does (I think) Thursdays. I'll try and scrounge up more details if anyone else is in the area but not a regular.

Not going to take three days to find an artist, and I'd like to bring my toys and get some games in. Can you point me to the right store in the area, maybe help set up a gameday for the weekend? Love to get a good grind of battles in before I drive back.

I'll talk to our (former) PG and let him know. He may have some suggestions.

I'll be taking my POV, so if it's within driving distance and had a good scene, I'm down. Got a passport too, so if Canadia has a close meta that works too.

I spoke to my PG, and he said there's nothing planned that far out yet. We're kind of a small meta. But I will keep you posted and remind him that you're going to be in town on that date.

Also, if anyone else likes ink, we could do a recruiting promotion for fun. Call it "Skin In The Game Steamroller," with part of the pot going towards an appointment. I'm getting another steampunk/fantasy/roleplaying game tattoo anyway, so I consider it all promotion of the hobby as is.

Row hobbies in Livonia is a great place. It’s jist outside Detroit... maybe 30 from the downtown area. Last I knew people were meeting on tuesdays(I think) there. They have a pretty nice selection there too... the store is like Mecca to us hobby nerds lol.
On a side note, I’m in Adrian mi, about 45 mins south of Ann Arbor and 45 min north of Toledo oh. I’m currently looking for a nice group and location to play. I’m trying to convince my local store to start carrrying some warmahordes, but some of the 40k fans are pretty vocally against it...
Game room in Sylvania has some stuff, I haven’t trekked there in a few months though

Their WM&H selection is a little lacking, but they're always willing to order stuff. There's about 4 of us who go there regularly on Tuesday. I've been n trying to trick family and friends into going too, but I've had middling success.
