I was theory crafting in war room the other day and was wondering; when is it good to bring Celyna Raefyll and crew?
The cards looks great: Combined ranged Pathfinder Weapon master on swords Granted:Hunter Retribution partisan
So why haven't I seen them in lists? Will they be better with all the new Nyssa releases?

I personally like them a lot. I think its just the state of the game that has turned people away from them currently.
1. They can't be taken in any theme forces (not that you need to play in theme but the way the game is going, themes are much more prominent) 2. The game meta took a huge swing towards gunlines being super effective. Since MHSF and Nyss are both DEF 14, I feel like MHSF have a much better advantage with stealth.
At the end of the day, I personally end up taking MHSF more often than nyss because of their play into WM. In a 2 tournament pairing, I usually have vyros 2 cover almost all my hordes matches and Ossyan w/ MHSF to handle all infantry spam/wm drops. I found that their mini feat, Stealth, and jack hunter are super useful in many games.

I love the Nyss, they are actually in my current pairing under Kaelyssa as my hordes drop. I feel that she makes up for the differences between them and MHSF with her fear and blur and CRA, Hunter, and WM charges are really nice.

I definitely see the appeal for them w/ Vyros 1. Have you tried using infiltrators w/ him? Think there is a lot of flexibility there

They lack a ranged attack and Hunter. In MK3 with the whole " ill pre measure and leave my stuff just outside of your threat range meta... having a unit with a 19" threat CRA that ignores cover and concealment is awesome. They hide a unit behind a wall? You don't care. Blur? just 3 man CRA to cancel it out. Plus with the Nyss Priest they're RAT7 and immune to cold. If your enemy runs something to jam them up you can use the priest to spray through them to clear them off ( since the spray is cold dmg) . Also on the turn you send them in for flank they are weaponmasters and 1" melee. Here's my Vyros1 writeup that I use them in. Likely the griffons will be removed when Harpies are released. lormahordes.freeforums.net/thread/1106/new-release-vyros1-tech

Its always nice to have flexibility like that. I do think even with pre - measure and leaving things out of threat, the list with infiltrators is still super powerful. You are going to want to play aggressively forward w/ 2 min units of infiltrators and 4 griffons. Stealth is what allows them to play so aggressively forward in this list. To a certain extent, the opponent cant afford to play outside of threat ranges bc it would end up setting the line of engagement really far back. W/ mobility and fleet, griffons have an incredibly dangerous threat range of 15" on the charge and a 18" run on turn 1 o.o

Love the Nyss hunter with priest synergy. I would think them and Ossyan would be great against ghost fleet.
I also read your split deployment write up. I'm definitely going to try that out against my brother this weekend...

Which is better depends on what you pair it with. I think ossyan or issyria shadows pair very well with vyros2 forges or helynna forges.I like ossyan in defenders because I love the AFG. I also do not have a forges of war list in my pairing.

Let's say, for fun, that I want to field an all Nyss army. Who would be the warcaster I would want to bring, and what warjacks would best synergize with the Nyss?
I'm thinking Vyros1

I'm thinking Vyros1 Seems like a good choice. I think Thyron or Ghyrrshyld also bring tools the Nyss will like - and of course Issyria just makes everything better. As for Warjacks, I think it depends on your 'caster. If you bring double Ryssovass Defenders, I would just take Light 'jacks and leave the ARM cracking to your infantry. Of course, Vyros1 probably wants a good amount of Myrmidons so I would probably just take one of each unit with him and add more 'jacks. Manticores seem like they can protect your infantry from enemy charges. I feel convinced there will eventually be a Nyss theme for Retribution, so Theme benefits might eventually change all of this...

Do you find Ghyrrshyld's base size an issue when moving up the field?

Do you find Ghyrrshyld's base size an issue when moving up the field? Not particularly. I keep him really far back though most of the time w/ 2 banshees in front/ near him to screen when necessary. Usually the SR17 terrain makes it easier bc of the LOS blocking terrain in the center of the board too. W/ arcane vortex/the option of having 1 spear shield guard (when I find shooting to be a threat), I usually feel pretty safe with G4. I use Chimera to arc any hex blasts/cycle upkeeps so you generally dont need him to be super far up the board either haha
