Meh ... I feel no shame. I get one game night a week and play beats painting every time.
Having a good tactical game with a pleasant opponent is way more appealing then sitting down and going "oooh pretty".
I originally didn't respond to that though as I didn't want to derail this thread. Lets open a new one if people actually want to discuss the topic.

We all like different parts of the hobby, strategy/painting/background. But it has nothing to do with the winrate Also, updated

Amon = 32-23 (smartalek) Durst Durant2 = 2-0 Feora1= 3-0 Feora2 = 1-2 Feora3= 2-0 Kreoss1 = 2-1 Kreoss2 Kreoss3 = 2-2 Malekus = 1-0 Reznik1 = 2-0 Reznik2 = 7-3 Severius1 = 4-3 Severius2 = 8-10 (smartalek) High Reclaimer = 1-6 Testament Harbinger = 9-2 Thyra = 5-2 Vindictus = 13-2
Played in a 4 round even going 2-2 overall. Amon beat Caine 3 on clock, and Sevy2 beat Rask on assassination. Sevy2 lost to Butcher3 after I forget to feat away his shield guards, and to the Dreamer on scenario (Spread the Net) where I wasn't fast enough to contest.
I can certainly see how Sevy2 is a strong caster, especially at sniping out key models. Unfortunately, he doesn't quite click for me and I'll be searching for someone else to play alongside Amon in the near future.

I took Harbinger and Amon to a 3 round Steam roller yesterday. I won my first game with Amon into Legion (Abby2) with an assassination, put Harbinger into Ghost Fleet (Denny1) and lost on scenario, and then dropped Amon into Mercs (McBain) and won on assassination.
It certainly looks like Amon is dominating the results. Makes sense since he ticks almost every box when it comes to warjacks.

To be honest, 37 out of those 57 are my games And I'm wondering, was the game versus Abby2 one of those 20+ shredder lists?

It was mostly big flappy things and big things with claws. Who's the other half of your pair?

I've really enjoyed playing sevvy 2 over the past few weeks. I've struggled slightly in the few games I've had with the timing of his feat. I think it had a dual purpose of : decimating incoming infantry and creating a threatening smoke screen in no man's land, OR saving it to scalpel out key solos and infantry in the late game. Other than that, I'm tempted to try him with a second arc node in the list aside from Blessing, to try for a wider arc of magic threat.

Another win with Vindictus vs the Heretic. First game vs him after CID. That was the grindiest game I have ever played. I won due to the mercy rule on turn 7.
The game basically ended because we were both scoring 2 points each turn, but I was up by one. The scenario was the one with two rectangle zones, the right zone for each player having a flag, with objectives in the middle between the zones.
He had a Skin and Moans, Piggybacks, one of the Twilight sisters, and a unit of Hollowmen stuck behind some rough terrain. I had 3 Flamebringers, a mechanik, hierophant, and 5 KE left. Vindictus was scoring the left zone, and a mechanik the flag in that zone. The Heretic was stuck on his flag and the Skin and Moans had to remain in the zone to keep scoring. The KE were trying to kill the piggybacks off, but they kept getting brought back.
So I won because if he tried to send his beast to finish me off, I would likely win by scenario, or have 4 KE murder the Skin and Moans. He was never able to trigger the Shadow Arcana because I was almost completely small based models.
The biggest irony of the game was that the only things that killed my 2 flamebringers were backstriking Crabbits.
I also made a bit of a goof and forgot about the Arcana that counters a spell and dispells all my upkeeps. I could have kept Vindictus out of it's effect too, it got triggered by me casting True Path while i was 1/4" inside the heretic's control area. The designers said they wanted to remove Gotchas from the game, but Grymkin a full of them... So can protectorate have our gotcha's back?
Still, it was a really fun game. But man, I wish my faction was as well put together as that.

How can crabbits backstrike a flamebringer? Flamebringers have parry? Unless there's a special grymkin rule for that?
never mind I'm an idiot, i was misreading backstrike for a free strike.

Won scenario into Retribution with Thyra. It was so close to a loss that the night of the game I thought I had lost. I was using Pow 8 instead of 10 when calculation an attack and missed the kill by 2 points. With the additional Pow over 2 or 3 attacks that had hit I would have killed his jack clearing the zone and allowing me to get the one scenario point I needed to win.

Adding 8 games from 2 4-round steamroller 2017 events.
Event 1 - Kreoss1/Harby. K1 beat Morvana2 (assassination, essentially an attrition victory), Harby lost to Caine3 Heavy Metal (assassination), Harby beat Wurmwood (assassination), and K1 lost to Testament (assassination).
Event 2 - Amon/High Reclaimer. Amon beat Xekaar Warhost (scenario, managed to score 5 points in a single turn), HR beat Gaspy2 Dark Host (assassination), HR beat Doomy3 Power of Dhunia (scenario), and HR lost to HR Examplar Interdiction (clocked at 00:00 - 00:07, very close game).

Played several games with Durst against Una2, Issyria and Harkevich. Lessons learned, Durst with all jacks is too slow on scenario even in EI. Won a game with Vindictus against Elara.

we are starting to see the shape of things, finally. It looks like Vindi would be the best to recommend for newer players that aren't looking into our fire aspect. Amon has the play time, but not quite the win ratio. Harby is a little difficult for starters, but a good option for a second caster. Reznik2's base size is a bummer. Ah, and as I thought, Sevy1 would have a better average than Sevy2. Sevy1's +1 to mat and rat really helps our par level models spike in utility. It's still anyone's game, though. This list will look a lot more interesting in a month or so.
