Ah right, now is a icon... I completely forgot about it. Still, meh, would have preferred the straight upkeep removal. Probably the focus leech on the caster was too overkill, but straight removal and no leech, I would have played her. To shoot butcher dogs on their asses probably. Right, the thing just about everyone says makes Garrity way too good... ;-) At least his threat range shrunk down by the end of the CID. I think Eiryss2 does suffer from being unfocused. I'm glad that she doesn't automatically remove upkeeps, but she needs something to do.

I'm starting to like Valka. I'd gotten so used to not running combat solos that I'd kind of forgotten how to play them and he has a ton of special rules, but I think I'm figuring him out.

Honestly when those solos are free I think there is a place for them. Knights E senny's do work for me most of the time. Dragoons are durable and fantastic at contesting or scoring flags thanks to dismount rules.
I think it is very dependent on the list and types of support provided to them.

I love my Strider Deathstalkers, Grotesque Assassin, Blighted Nyss Warlord and Anyssa Ryvaal. Yes several of them have Veteran Leader or Leadership but I still field them without the units they buff based on their value as combat solos.

Depending on how the Merc/Minion rules pan out for theme lists, we might be seeing Swamp Gobbers very often. They are the cheapest unit in the game, so right off the bat, they are great for contesting zones if nothing else. Their smoke is usually pretty handy, and how often are you building a list and have a couple points left over anyway?
