Relating to Protectorate in that it was previously a rule exclusive to Bastion. How do you guys feel about this?

#betterbastions
Which is fine btw. Bastions are almost unplayable, so a better version existing is fine. Just gotta wait for our turn now :^)

I would say that if we can push the removal of the 3" bubble limit it would auto transfer to the bastions.
Just like Admonisher did.

Yeah, Bastions and Cinnies got hit hard by the Heavy Infantry General Nerf. Now it seems like they're bringing the power levels back up, but in a controlled slow way to make sure we don't go back to Miserable Meat Mountain days.
Other people getting new toys is a good thing since, if it increases the choices people have in making lists, it makes game healthier. We'll get our turn.

I came here hoping to see the same people who said Sanguine Bond was worthless upset about another faction getting it. I am disappointed.

oh, I'm expecting the troll players to QQ about it as much as we do. But having higher def and Arm, steady tough, +1 pow, and Retaliatory strike are all reasons why they use it better than bastions do

I really don't think champs with sanguine bond is gonna do much to help thier problems of getting murdered. Most of the time at Arm 18 Def 14 what is hitting them is going to overkill to a point where sanguine bond becomes a detriment. Guns still punk the unit and the 3" limitation is horrible for board positioning and presence. The retaliatory strike interaction is cute...but champs never had an issue once they got stuck in...it was getting stuck in.
Champs are better bastions yes...but that's not really hard to accomplish now is it?....
As a circle and protectorate player my experience with medium based infantry is what I commit to them overkills (WM infantry, Jacks/beasts, Guns....) so sanguine bond is kind of worse at the point where your doing more than 8 damage to one guy.

Don't they get a bonus for staying by each other? At least that's a pretty big synergy with SB.
In my experience, unless it's clearly superior to disperse the damage, taking 8+ damage is usually when you decide to forget SB and just remove the model.

I'm actively sad about this. Bas tons were once of the first units i painted.
I'm kind of miffed that trolls get better bastions. I'm also miffed trolls get better zealots (trollkin raiders; how come they can have a auto fire 3 AOE on range 8 like the Firetruck)
Sigh. When the protectorate cid rolls around they better shower is in all the gifts so we can feel appreciated too.

In my experience, unless it's clearly superior to disperse the damage, taking 8+ damage is usually when you decide to forget SB and just remove the model. But my point is they are gonna be taking 8+ damage a lot more than they should. Even if they pass off 1 lower Pow shot, most armies can put down a good amount of shooting attacks now. They still get shot off the table and charging models with Pow 13+ (Or pow11+ with WM) and Mat 7 will still crush them. I have low expectations. The devs seem to think it's going to be this big deal with retaliatory strike but as an opponent of trolls who faces them very very often...I just don't see it being a big deal. Under a caster like Ragnor it might be great for 1 Turn that's really all I can think of.
