Feels like more fleshed out bloodbowl to me. Malifaux has more individuality to it's models, here it's mainly grunts fighting grunts as far as I see. Also rerolls and casualty rolls quite similar.
I imagine it'll be mostly free for people who already have WMH models, so no reason not to play it. Seems more interesting than just a low point WHM game.
Resource management matters, positioning matters, no wildly random mechanics so far, it's fast enough, rules don't seem to have potentially stupid things to argue about(like true los). May even be competitive.
Visually it looks not very appealing compared to other skirmishes but then it's more reasons to paint your models good and get some 3d terrain.

wonder how long a normal game would take. i dont think we can go off what they did in the live stream due to rules explications and the first 15ish minutes was a sales pitch.
so maybe an hour?

Played it at L&L, group demo. Even in that first run it was fairly quick paced. Seems a perfect game for in-between WM/Hordes full games, when waiting for that other table of two players to finish. Less investment in set-up time and mental prep.
We already have 3'x3' mats ready, made for Rumble.
I'm looking forward to using a WM/Hordes ladder board we've had in venue 'forever', with year long tracking (pseudo campaign), probably allowing each player to choose/utilize two factions (NOT blended Company though) for variety. I'll probably add a 'full painted' bonus point for each time a player fields a fully painted Company.
I'm hoping it'll be a good game and get No Quarter support, updates, etc.

If they give it constant support it will live. If they don't it will die. I hope it lives. Give it a proper campaign and watch it blossom. Persoonally I just ordered a nice set of 3d terrain. I'll probably order a couple mice buildings. After ordering one of those rumble mats of course
