I really enjoyed the league version, even if the advancement rules were a little uneven in application. Alternating activations seems like a good fix for capturing the skirmishing feel, and was something that came up during the league in our post-game beer-fuelled post-mortems. I'm tentatively sold; it's not like the pigs haven't been tempting me for ages anyway.

That's great news. I've always had a bit of a problem with Warmachine's hero-hammer like single-key-model-centrism. And how the presence of all-powerful warcatsers makes small point games very hard to balance. The Mordheim-like (but hopefully less random and more balanced) campaign system is the icing on the cake. Certainly will make introducing new and/or not-competitively minded players to WM&H much easier.
Much, much interested in that!

Me and my friends tried to design this (or something similar) for our own use a while back and some of the things that we figured out and hope this has. -ways to buy equipment upgrates for members of the war band -character models are forbidden except for certain cases (your warband leader is a character and some such) -just somehow figure out a way for units to function. Cause many rules of uniys revolve around other members of that unit and that gets weird when models activate individually

It was specifically stated that it doesn't use warcasters. You can bring units, solos and light jacks Aww Dang. I just realised that Khador is at a pretty big disadvantage because of this in this minigame. Well let's see how they handle it. Maybe no Heavy Infantry except MOW?

No lights in Khador isn't necessarily a problem. Doom Reavers and Iron Fangs can crack lights alright.

yeah, with the individual activation. I think rules like gang are going to be harder to set up. But maybe that's the point. I'm kind looking forward to it. I also really like the cygnar leader model for some reason. I think it's the physics defying cape.

In company of Iron "The Campaign" - Legion used a Beast Mistress who had 2 Shredders, and Retribution had a Jack Marshal for their light punching jack.
It was good fun.

Superior Cygnaran technology does not submit itself to such things as "Physics". Nah shes just willing it that way with magic. She keeps stealing capes from alternate realities that are in the perfect pose. Tis the Cygnarian way!
