I only buy models I don't yet have. Or if I need something for a huge event.

Man, I've been wanting to play a Zealot army since I started. Much excite. I think I'm going to run a Malekus/HoJ/Reckoner/double Zealot list next week. The only problems I've ever really had with them it that they die and they can't hit the broadside of a Khador Jack. HoJ for tossing out POW 16's (boosted boosted on feat turn), and Reckoner for Flare should be a decent combo (as they can actually hit flared things pretty well) and should be super fun. Maybe screen them with Daughters?

Maybe screen them with Daughters? Would be illegal as a theme for a couple of reasons. But nothing stopping you from running that list right now. Heck you can even throw in a gorman for a to hit boost or to damage boost.

Mostly, I'm excited for moar Zealots, I love those little guys. They were my second unit ever, going waaaay back. Whenever the theme drops, Vinnie with a Reckoner and a Sanctifier or Malekus with his character jack is gonna be a good way to go. Vinnie's speed boost is too good to pass up when you only have a 6" range (threatening 14", you can pretend they're snipers! ), and Penitence is baller on Zealots. It seems like not too many people play Malekus, but Scourge lets anything hit, and boost Fire is sweet. Zealots can really trade up against a fair number of lists (except Cygnar, screw those guys).

I've been toying with the idea of running a Feora3 list that leads with a jackwall and follows up with Holy Zealots backed up by Hand Of Judgment. I haven't had a chance to play it yet, but on paper, the Holy Zealots throwing POW 18 bombs through holes in the jackwall seems good. Holy Masses might work well for this list.

i hope that idrians and punch monks eventually become our 5th theme on its own. am i wrong in thinking they said 5 was the target per faction?. if so then what other then idrians would be the 5th. it would have to be someting completely new.
As for the theme. im curious at the benefits.and at what models it would contain. here is a list of models i think might be in it. if so. that is insane. but they all make sense.
All Menoth warcasters All Non character warjacks Scourge of Heresy Blessing of Vengeance Scrutator models Deliverer Models Zealot Models Reclaimer Models Choir Paladins Hierophant New Building Vassal of Menoth Tristan Vassal Meckanik Wrack Covenant of Menoth
free solo (including paladins) for 20 pts of deliverer type stuff and zealot type stuff.
some form of recursion for deliverers and zealots (the masses are just that. masses. they are everywhere. they are the people. that would mean that casually taking a half a unit out with aoe`s would no longer work. and it would mean a theme that really kind of makes use of all our soul mechanics in the game in a relevant way.
jacks get shield guard. they are there to protect the people.

Cut out the building, character jacks, scrutators, Tristan, hierophant, add monks. That's your most likely setup.
My guess for the bonuses: free solos or u/a for 20 points.
Deliverers get pathfinder.
Warjacks gain magic weapons.
/yeah, it's pessimistic, but our current themes have not given me hope for PP's application of our themes.

I'd think they'd allow Tristan, given his affinity for the common folk. Also they'd probably give jacks Righteous Vengeance to proc off all the zealots and stuff dying. Or world that be too much synergy that should be dialed back to pathfinder in Deliverers territory?

Or world that be too much synergy that should be dialed back to pathfinder in Deliverers territory? More like it's already on one(Fire of Salvation) and I strongly doubt it'd be given to everyone. Plus the dangerous combo with Blood of Martyrs, which we can pull with a couple of casters but only without using a theme.

To be fair they would be mostly MAT6 unlisted attacks.
I'm probably just a bad player, but wouldn't it also be difficult to balance between screening the jacks with units and not having them get in the way of the vengeance move+attack?

Until it's on the Avatar with his 2 inch rea.....
Oh. Lets do this.

I should try it with Testament. Bonus points when he brings back your screen troops.

Point, I expect all of the preists (mostly hierophant and attendent) to be in this theme, allong with monks and idrians. which means you could build a pretty silly harby list where you just bring like hammer dwarves to proc vengeance for your 8 or so paladins (assuming FA:2 on the cav) and contest early with idrians and monks like usual I also wanna try it under vindictus if this ends up being the case, just for funsies.

Just wondering, what would Testament nees to be competitive? Delivery? Or damage?
