Apparantly a zealot theme is coming our way. From what i've heard, this is what it will include:
All paladins, including the new paladin dragoon. Zealots
Here is what i think it will also include:
Deliverers. Alongside the Zealots these two are pretty much our peasant units lorewise.
Now, my hope is that both the zealots and the deliverers will go through a round of CID. If that's done, this theme could potentially be great for casters like Harby and Vindy.
What do you guys think?

I'm glad you made this post, I was about to do the same.
The quote that I saw was From CID panel:
"The champion of the order of the wall will go into the Menoth edit a new theme- Faithful Masses, the zealot theme. He will have a leadership ability that gives retaliatory strike to other paladins."
I've also made a list of the models who currently don't have a place in any theme force: War Room Army
Protectorate of Menoth - models currently without a theme
Theme: No Theme Selected 46 / 75 Army
Allegiant of the Order of the Fist - PC: 3 High Paladin Dartan Vilmon - PC: 6 Paladin of the Order of the Wall - PC: 4 Deliverer Arms Master - PC: 3
Deliverer Skyhammers - Leader & 5 Grunts: 8 Deliverer Sunburst Crew - Gunner & 2 Grunts: 5 Holy Zealots - Leader & 5 Grunts: 8 Idrian Skirmishers - Leader & 5 Grunts: 9

I think the Holy Masses theme would likely also include choir (obviously), Reclaimers and scrutators. This would ensure that the souls of the faithful are used, and the scrutators to keep them in line.
I'm not 100% sure on the idiran skirmishers, but they aren't in any other theme at the moment.

Well, as posted elsewhere, if the CID theme changes stick, Idrians could be in any Theme List

I'm pretty sure the cid changes will not stick. Idrians are pretty peasant like. They are the tribals. I think they should be in this theme flavor wise. Also i really think this theme needs them balance wise cause the theme will need something to hit hard. Like the faithful masses were never a means to the end. They were there to bolster our numbers and die instead of our elite infantry. I kind of hope they let us take one non-faithful masses unit in the theme to help represent that.

I think that if there is a peasant theme, it will not include the monks. My thinking on this is that monks and paladins do the same thing albeit through different stats - mainly score outlying flags in SR 2017.
I hope the VoJ makes it into the theme, I mean it is essentially a big movable miracle device, if anyone needs to see the miracles it is the peasants.

The paladins look like they will be in it.. if so then the allegiants have no reason not to be too. Both are long established and respected martial orders that rely on the power of faith.
So far the Northkin got a Battle Engine, the Trenchers a building... seems like something like a 'temple' building would fit a faithful masses theme. That or a Menoth's Fury factory for deliverers.

Don't forget that the monks mingle with the common folk, so I wouldn't be surprised at seeing them. I doubt that we'll see VoJ here. It just doesn't seem right to me and I can't put my finger on why. I'd love to see Idrians here too, but they tread on the toes of Deliverers. If they end up here, expect them to go through CID and end up getting toned down.

Menoths Fury Factory: A huge based drill with several long flexible fuel pipes. It comes with several solos wielding the pipes. If they end their activation within base to base of a friendly model, that model has fire continuous effect and fuel for the flames special rule. A bit like the engineers that refuel the F1 cars

a Zealot theme will be cool, but I am worried it will be a terrible theme. Unless we also get a new type of zealot unit that can crack armor and actually fight decently it's pretty much a hosed theme from the get go.

This is why i hope CID will have a crack at zealot's and deliverers. I'm not the biggest fan of themes right now, but if it means these two units get improved i would be really happy. As for Idrians, i can see them being a part of it. Wether or not they clash with deliverers depends on how they come out of CID. Unchanged they won't be picked over Idrians in the slightest. Ryilan

Is this list going through CID? I thought they confirmed that our exemplar list would be our CID theme (similar to trenchers.) None of that is set in stone of course...

OP said all paladins will be there, they can crack armour, along with the jacks of course...

With a bit of work, Zealots can crack armor too.
Well...a lot of work. With Malekus only, really. Scourge the target, pop feat, pray for damage, and get up to 10 POW14+3d6 hits in. Trick is in figuring out how to deliver them...

eh. Prayer only stops spells, and more zealots seems like a losing prospect (unless your goal is to have enough zealots that at least SOME of them will reach, which is an amusing idea). But 12/12 with a max threat range of 12" is really lackluster. I'd personally try to deliver them simply by having a bigger, faster threat to draw attention (Famebringers, for example). Though having said that, tempted to try the following just to imitate Cryx and flood the board with bodies. Feora3 Hierophant Vigilant Hand of Judgement Vassal Mechanik x2 Wrack x1 min Choir max Flamebringers Max Zealots + UA x3 Thinking is that there's no reasonable way to kill all 33 Zealots (especially with minifeat) before they get in range, and between the Zealots' prayer for damage, Hand of Judgement's aura, and Incite, you're looking at RAT6, POW18 bombs (POW12 blast damage). edit: oh dear god, think of the time required to resolve all those AoEs....
