Following the recent battle engine change, the meat thresher looks incredibly tempting to use. I has made it's way onto the purchase list.
Exhaust fumes feels like it could work really well considering how much of Circle has prowl and the engine is only 16 points now. P+S 16 with 4d6 damage potential looks like it could be fun if used with Mohsar or Wurmwood casting curse of shadows.
Has anyone tried using the thresher in a Circle list since the change? Would you run 2? Has anyone used knockdown units to help the thresher, such as druids? Woldwrath?
I'm curious to know what tactics and combos people are using, as I can't quite pinpoint how I'd want to run it.

I'm not sure what I think of the meat thresher. It's good against infantry and has a decent gun. The fulcrum is also good against infantry, it's gun is boostable against heavies, and it has great support. Is 2-4 pow 15 shots against heavies better than a boostable 15, 14, and 12? Probably not, but it's also 3 points cheaper.
I guess I'm waiting to see if the minion battle engines while playing in theme change goes through. Mohsar wouldn't mind a meat thresher playing in host or hunt theme.

They stated for Mercs, somewhere, that battle engines won't be shared, I assume the true is gonna be true for Minions.

If I remember right, the pigs have invented the technique of making exhaust fumes that only conceal friendly faction models. P+S 16 with 5d6 damage potential looks like it could be fun if used with Mohsar or Wurmwood casting curse of shadows. Plus 4d6 surely?

Misread that bit I think having 2 stalkers getting shielded by the thresher could be ok. Thresher bulldozes in, knocks everything down then the stalkers come in along the flanks of the thresher.

I used it and found it very fun. It reminded me of my old deff roller for Space Orks.
