Somebody uploaded a shot of the upcoming releases for October. Aside from the excitement of new Cryx Warjack kits there is a $135 item 'Trencher Force Box'
Clearly it contains at least some Trenchers but i wonder if it is just a neat way to buy all the new trenches releases in one handy package or if it is a 'module' of Trencher models that can be slotted into an existing army?
I suspect that we may see similar boxes for things like Cryx Scharde Isle Pirates, Blighted Ogruns, etc.
Does anybody have more information on these boxes?

That's awesome. I wonder if it's like one of each non-caster, not-on-a-huge-base model or if it's a 50 point army. Either way, it's great that we can easily hit the ground running with all these new releases at once.

There is the Grymkin force box. I'm guessing it will be an all in one army set. 50 points. Probably a caster with some jacks and a solid assortment of Trenchers.
We can probably expect the same for Northkin, Black Fleet, Blighted Ogrun, and Blindwater.

It contains (as I hear it): Trencher Cannon Crew Anson Hitch Trencher Patrol Dog Trenchers + UA + WA Trencher Master Gunner Not really a saving over buying the models individually.

Seems odd that it includes models that have been out for ages and misses out the new stuff. But then again, maybe the idea is that it gives you the backbone of a trencher force, rather than just being a collection of the new stuff.

That's probably for the best. Gives new players an easy access starter collection of Trenchers. Edit: and I guess they found a way to sell the Cannon Crew.

Yeah the Force boxes are probably compilation of models (past caster and jacks) to flesh out a 50(ish) point list past battlegroup within a theme. That's my guess, adn if the above contents are accurate, seems about right.
Did anyone calculate the math and confirm if its no discount or just slight ? Slight would be a good thing IMHO as in like 10% or so. Otherwise, uh, why buy this when it has a cannon?

And there are no jacks/caster AFAIK - the info says that it's supposed to be combined with the battlebox to make a 35 point list.

That's significantly smaller then the All in one Boxes.

Otherwise, uh, why buy this when it has a cannon? If the box had less contents and a lower price tag, I might suspect PP intends to reduce SKU bloat further by selling certain thematically linked models together only. At $135 and with that number of models, that seems unlikely though.

Weird that there's no discount. I can see why they didn't include a caster and jacks, though. This way, you can grab the battlebox, try it out, and then get the force box for a larger scale army.
I hope they have fixed the cannon. If it's the same, and there's no discount, I won't be recommending it to any new players.

Yeah its a bit odd there's no discount at all... i mean... i have to imagine they're at least saving some on packaging which would allow for a minor incentive bundle discount?
THat being said, the cannon still seemed underwhelming in the final trencher CID doc. If there's no discount and i'm getting something that's going to be hard pressed to see table time, that's a rough sell over just buying the stuff individually unless you're a completionist collector. Which there's certainly a market for no doubt, i just wonder if its big enough to justify box sets, or if they're hoping they'll sell them in spite of the cannon ?
A little odd no matter how you slice it. I wonder if they come with other "swag" (i.e. the battle box had dice i continue to find in impossible places all over my home, the mat, the ruler, the booklets, etc) - something like that.

I would not be surprised if this is the way PP is going to battle SKU bloat (pretty much what I said when we discussed why PP is pushing hard for theme forces).
If it doesn't have a big discount I think it means it's a permanent thing (as opposed to the All in Ones that are limited release).
Hmmm I just may wait to get this when building my trencher force

The only way that this box set is going to battle SKU bloat is if it were going to *replace* other SKU, just like a single heavy warjack box set would replace three individual pewter heavy warjack blisters. Since this Trencher box set has the basic Trenchers in it, I doubt there is going to be any replacing going on. To combat SKU bloat this new boxed set will probably be a limited availability item.
