Very cool. Gives me some hope that maybe we'll see a couple more things if we make it into CID in August.

Read on /tg/ his feat is models with no focus gain boosted attack rolls. When attacking enemy models with focus friendly models gain boosted damage rolls.
He has a spell to give and remove focus from enemy/friendly models.

He has a spell to give and remove focus from enemy/friendly models. Per Jay Larson talking to Pagani at Lock and Load. The feat only cares about focus/fury on enemy models, not friendly ones. So you attack a model, if it has no focus/fury on it you get boosted to hit, if it does have focus/fury on it you get boosted damage. So every attack will get one or the other. But it does work for out of battlegroup models like perforators and reductors and it works on melee attacks as well.

If that feat is correct, then he is probably going to be my favorite caster immediately! Even though he loves ranged Vectors, that Feat lets him really use CoC infantry quite well. When the infantry theme eventually drops (c'mon fix the foundries!) he is going to Perforate the world.

Yea I'm pretty excited for him. Again though he'll be going through cid so some things can change. But perforators getting boosted damage or reductors getting boosted to hit against infantry would make him a pretty good infantry caster. Provided we get a theme force for infantry soon.

I certainly hope we get some better ranged jacks and units for a "ranged focused" caster. Can't particularly understand why he would have a spell to "give focus" to units, meaning it will only work with his feat and never be useful otherwise (maybe he can give it to infantry in a psudo arcane might? also a way to over burden beasts) But new things for my love is always a welcome sight, super stoked to see them in the CID.

What type of ranged jacks would you want?

I'd really like to see a baby Axiom, something with puncture/tow cables to drag enemy units around.

I'd start by making the monitor useable (reload, rof, anything to make it a not worse asymilator) Perhaps a light using the perforator style gun, maybe a bit better range, essentially a cheap (7-8 pts) shorter ranged hunter Any unit at all with some real ranged threat, a 10 man living optifex rifle unit with some interesting shot types (puncture, e leap, beacon) maybe, really anything is better than perforators (reductors are great but not what I'd call gun line) Those would go a long way to filling in the ranged hole that our faction mostly has, right now we rely on asymilator and PA in that role far too much.

The monitor looks usable with Orion. Range 13 with repo 3 and his feat seems alright. I wouldn't expect us getting anything like the hunter in faction with how much focus efficiency we have. A 10 man long ranged unit would be nice but fluff wise it would have to be a clockwork vessel. The living convergence members tend to be more support focused. Shot types though on single wound units tend to add more complexity then necessary. I think I would like them better if they were cheap and had cra like winter guard rifle corps.

Why run the monitor when the assimilatitor is just as good but with Aoe, pathfinder and faster movement (Monitor has +1 threat, and ignores cloud walls as opposed to kinda ignores them) Sure the sustained attack is decent with low MAT but I'm not sure if that is worth the trade offs. As for a hunter, yeah probably, but some light with a non-utility gun would be appreciated I can dream big for now. I'd rather avoid just another trencher/winter guard unit, sure they would be good, but some unorthodoxy and uniqueness would feel more in faction for us.

Why run the monitor when the assimilatitor is just as good but with Aoe, pathfinder and faster movement (Monitor has +1 threat, and ignores cloud walls as opposed to kinda ignores them) It depends on the wording. I am hoping for "Additional Dice" as opposed to "Boosted", but i super doubt it will happen. The extra attack dice increases the chance of popping the brutal dice (and hitting of course, so against a focusless caster or critical solo for example) or The extra damage dice along with a boosted to hit roll means you have a chance of getting some decent damage. If the wording is "boosted" it would make this less worth it (because a caster can achieve this with the monitor already)
