Hello all. Happened across this forum through a random search and it seems like a friendly enough place! I started playing Warmachine very very casually about the time Superiority was new. I and friends were still very much into 40k at the time so Warmachine seemed like a fun distraction when we just had the kitchen table and didn't want to pull out hundreds of models to play.
Over time I grew to enjoy playing Warmachine better and the 40k days were in the past. I never really collected Warmachine as much though. The interest in my play group was still very light and we didn't play often. Periodically I would check in on new models and paint some stuff but that's about it.
Fast forward to now. Well a lot has changed! Half a dozen friends recently got REALLY into the game and I've been sitting it out on the sideline for the past year (new babies will do that). I pulled out all the models I had before this week though cause we're gonna play! I have mostly Cygnar models and thought I would see if I could field anything reasonable in small games. (nothing tournament sized yet). I'm brushing up on the newest rules and I have some friends coming over this weekend to play. I may end up just watching but I would love any input on if the models I have are useful or not and which models I should look to acquire based on what I already have.
Current models:
Captain Victoria Haley
Major Victoria Haley
Commander Coleman Stryker
Lieutenant Allison Jakes
Gun Mage Captain Adept
Journeyman Warcaster
Reinholdt, Gobber Speculator
Ironclad
Defender
Lancer
Charger x2
Hunter
Grenadier
Stormguard
Arcane Tempest Gun Mages
Trenchers
Trencher Chain Gun Crew
Any suggestions on making a small point force out of the models I have would be greatly appreciated. And any direction towards what I should purchase to work towards a full 75 point army would be grand. The only thing I remember about playing was abusing the crap out of Temporal Barrier and Smoke Bombs. I enjoy controlling and negating my opponent as opposed to brute force.
Thank you all for your time!
