So, assumed that the result of Trencher CID would be applied, then how many bad models are left? I don't think that we have the opportunity to ask for it soon for we had Trencher CID last month and it is the turn of the other factions, but it is better to check about something that need to be reviewed.
Personally, I think that these models are need to be reviewed.
Lackluster: These models are simply bad or mediocre.
-Constance Blaize: She can't do something what she supposed to do, nor she can do something worth for a warcaster. More useful Morrowan models would fix the situation a bit but still it seems that she is not worth at all.
-Cyclone: It doesn't have meaningful stopping power against the enemy units, and it can only put one Covering Fire template but does nothing else. Why we need to looking for it? Random amount of shots is annoying as well, for it is the extra randomness beside attack rolls and damage rolls.
-Reliant: With the same to less amount of damage output in melee, with a Defender, but its gun have nothing valueable even for the lower points. In MKII it have more P+S than a Defender in melee so there is a sure place for it, but not in the new edition. Also it lacks synergys with Storm Knights as well; it doesn't need to have Accumulator but it simply lacks a meaning to field it with Storm Knights.
-Ace: Maybe it is a decent tool for the assassination with Caines, but it requires too much points, more than a Hunter, but it can't crack armor and only specialized at pick out a solo or warcasters. But we can do it by the solos or Caine himself, and other than Caine list it is simply useless.
-Arcane Tempest Gun Mages&Arcane Tempest Gun Mage Officer: All they can is push stuffs, that's all. Although they are durable, but the small unit needs some utilitiness to be worthwhile. They lacks firepower, push is easily blocked, and they have no more tricks. Their officer don't have meaningful advancements as well. Although he is still a good 'Jack Marshal, but even if we don't count Power Up 15 points is too expensive just for a Jack Marshal of a ranged warjack.
-Long Gunner Infantry: Not just overshadowed by Trencher Long Gunners, they can't earn their points back due to their fragility, or you need to put too much resource to make them actually work.
-Stormguard Infantry/Silver Line Stormguard: Currently the worst model, and the second worst model we have, they can't do anything/almost anything. Both are not able to survive against the enemy ranged threat and have to be sit behind of our lines to survive, despite their role as the vanguard. And with the same effort to deliver them you have much more choices. Silver Line Stormguard have a unique role so they are not unusable, but it is unlikely that they are useful that much either.
-Stormsmith Grenadiers: With 7 points and RNG 6 they are hard to be useful. Their grenade have the utility, of course, but their RNG 6 degrades the usefulness of the effects. They are not so cheap for the easily throwable piece, not able to jam the enemy faster, nor have the survivability after the shot. In short, what the hell?
-Precursor Knights: They are at least able to survive against the enemy attacks, but they lacks offensive quality at all. With RNG 0.5" in the era of RNG 1", they lacks punching power to attack the warjacks/beasts, and Morrow's Name is actually not so useful because of it. The cherry on the cake is that they are cannot be buffed by the most spells. They are able to be delievered, but they are can't be buffed and they don't have meaningful offensive quality. Then why we need to take them?
-Trencher Mechaniks: Simply expensive than even expesive 3/5 Field Mechaniks, and all they can is simply repair stuffs. Their Dig In have almost no meaning for their nature as the Mechaniks as well. Even pre-CID Trencher Cannon Crew and Triumph seems useful than them.
-Black 13th Strike Force: For a small sized units, they shares the same role with the solos; support the others. But all they can is simply damaging stuffs, nothing more. Although they are one of the most point efficient anti armor gun source, but they are have to be within 10" of the target, and they can't do anything other than that. If we only want the damage output, usually we better take the regular sized units instead.
-Stormblade Captain: Only with Tactician can't help the Storm Knights, especially for the fragile non-cavalry options. He lacks something to support the Storm Knights, but he requires more points than the utility options. Also his SPD 5 and DEF 12 makes him not suited for the solo missile as well. Honestly, if you run Storm Knight units you better take Rhupert Carvolo and/or Archduke Alain Runewood instead of a 5 points solo that does nothing to them. Runewood is simply superior than him as well. He may have a place if you want to run 2 units of Storm Lances, or he is the only Storm Knight model in the list and you need him to fuel the Stormclads, but is it a meaningful advantage for a 5 points solo? I don't think so.
Overshadowed: These models are good on their own, or not so good but capable, however the other models are simply better than it, or they are not good on the current meta.
-Captain Victoria Haley: With the removal of SPD debuff on Temporal Barrier, she lost the merit over the other warcasters with accuracy fix. Feat: Blitz is a good feat, but the removal of SPD debuff she no longer gives their troopers an another tun to shoot, and you better take the Snipe casters or Haley3.
-Lord General Coleman Stryker: The combination of Fury and the feat makes good charge damage, indeed, but overall he lacks defensive buffs and fragile than Stryker2 so his models choice is greatly reduced.
-Commander Dalin Sturgis: Although a capable warcaster, but he shares too much with Stryker1, Caine1, and Maddox, and his melee prowess - his advantage over the other similar group of casters - is not so impressive either.
-Captain Allison Jakes: Just an inferior Stryker2 or an inferior Jakes1, which is the solo version of her. Jakes1 has the superior spell than some spells Jakes2 has, and Jakes1 is a solo so you can have an another warcaster as well. Even if we ignore the inferiorness of her, her mechanism requires her to heavy battlegroup but she can't fuel them, and she needs the melee units but she lacks the defensive buff to them so she can't deliver them. I wonder that she is better suited for the lackluster group or not, but I include her on here because the most impact on her is that a solo model we have is simply superior than her.
-Lancer: As I think about the most warjacks with Arc Node, it is expensive but all it can do is arcing spells but requires more points than many other light warjacks.
-Thunderhead: Don't have enough firepower than Dynamo, while more expensive.... Although both of them are focus hog, Dynamo is more efficient as well.
Trencher Commandos: All they can is kill the infantry in ranged, nothing more, but it is a common thing in Cygnar. So why we need for a unit that can only aim for the infantry?
Sword Knights Officer&Standard: Although Reposition[3"] is a good advantage, but he degrades the advantage of Sword Knights - cheap unit.
----
Personal feeling: I don't think that many would agree with me, but I want these models are need to have a look.
-Sentinel: I know that it is a decent Shield Guard bot for 8 points, but random shot makes me annoying and it means that it have no meaningful offensive quality.
-Field Mechaniks: All they can is fix a warjack, nothing more. But they are hard to take care of two or more warjacks have some distance. Theoretically two Grunts can have about 14" or more distance with each other and take care of two warjacks have about 15" or more distance with each other, but it means that the Officer of the unit is must be between 6" of each Grunt and exposed, unless you have an another warjack or something to protect him as well. So I think that they are not able to repair two or more warjacks unless they have the close distance. I do aware that many people think that 3 points is enough, but I see a 2 points Gobber Tinker, or 4 points Arlan Strangeways that is able to do more stuffs than just repair seems the more reasonable choice, for Repair is usually just need for fixing crippled system.
-Major Katherine Laddermore: Only for a Veteran Leader bubble is too cruel for a 8 points solo. Although you can give Storm Knights reasonable ranged accuracy with any casters, with 8 points she seems lackluster. Yes, she have the melee prowess and able to zap minimum 2 enemy models, but just for killing stuffs you better take the units.... Personally, as a gamer with a Storm Lances units and a Stormblade Infantry unit, I don't think that she is an usable choice for me. And the ranged accuracy buff can be acquired by the warcasters as well, so with such casters you don't need her at all. Also with the same points you can take a Firefly instead.
