Now that we have actual proof that they are indeed working on the Revelator i started thinking about how to best use him in todays meta. My gut feeling is telling me Sevvy 2 but i'm having a hard time building a list i'm happy with. It starts out something like this.
Theme: The creators might
Sevvy 2 - Revelator - Blessing of Vengeance - ?
Choir Covenant of Menoth Vassal of Menoth ?
What else should be in that list? What lists are you thinking about? Other casters? Out of theme?

One way to go would be to put in a Reckoner as the third jack. 2 boosted hex blasts (POW 15/13), 1 boosted POW16 from a Reckoner, and 2 POW 14s/17s from a Revelator all of which ignore forests, clouds and intervening models (and stealth if the Revelator can land flare) is a very strong assassination threat.
Regardless of build, a reclaimer solo is an auto-include (if not disallowed by theme). Future sight on Sev/Rev is amazing, and you can power it with your own souls (like extra choir) if the enemy refuses to do it for you.
Re theme: Taking some exemplar for the infantry would enable all of your firepower to be blessed, but Creator's Might would be the more all-round choice. A bunch of jacks with oracular poses a good attrition challenge to your opponent.
Out of theme, Idrians or Flamebringers are the two best choices for a unit IMO. Both are independent and are great arcane ward targets.

If you plan to use the big guns, you need to be able to ensure nothing serious can retaliate. I recommend having a plan to cover for rev or protect it.

I have a 2 revelator list I am waiting to get out.
High Reclaimer -revelator -revelator -hierophant
3 mechaniks Vassal Min choir Max idrians+UA
Hot swap hand of fate around. Idrians screen, then get feated back. Revelators are mostly fully fueled at all times. 2 sac lamb spare choir boys for big turns.

I've tried that before...if you're going against jack spam its a bad idea but it butchers infantry spam

The main problem with malakus is aside from the feat he doesn't do much. And he doesn't have an accuracy buff other than scourge to help those out of actvation attacks.

I think the Revelator is a good model but overrated, at least with the current meta. It brings to menoth a solution against stealth models and incorporeal ones. It gives an advantage in case of mirror matches. Those are the major benefits brought by this model for our faction (IMO). That said, it costs 37 points, has 4 ranged attacks but 3 focus (can't boost all the shots), has RAT 5, SPD 4 and the main guns are range 10" (leaving it too close to the enemy). Hits ĺike a truck but with MAT 6. In a gun line, compared to 3 redeemer i think he looses: 33 points against 37; 3 boosted shots against 9; superior RAT but still not enough in too many cases for rolling only 2 dices and be sufficiently sure to hit; range 10/14 against 16; a bit higher damages (15/12 against 12); a single model that can be shut down by a heavy hitting model against 3 models that can be scattered on the table (maybe in cover). Reckoner really helps both of them. Nowdays menoth players solve a lot of matches with Amon. I think he doesn't have a good play against cygnar and cryx. We need a second list that covers those matches and the Revelator unfortunately is not that great solution overall. I tried to build different lists and i came more or less to the same conclusion: HR and Malekus are good casters for him, but i'm still not satisfied. Same thing with Feora3 and Sevvy 1/2, that IMO prefer multiple jacks. Let me know what you think, cause i'm just at the beginning of the experimentation of this "new" colossal and i may be really wrong. (Forgive my english, if necessary ^^)

Open Fire is nice on Conflagrator Cannons. As i said, he has no real accuracy buff. Remember the aoe only stays if you directly hit your target. And if he has allocated to the revelator, and the other ranged jacks you have, he doesnt have much left to cast either open fire or scourge. Thats why i dont really like Malakus. A lot of nice tricks, but the whole package doesnt make the cut. Revelator wants an accuracy and damage buff. So pSevy or High Reclaimer for me.

Is scourge out of the question? I feel knockdown would be a viable option for accuracy. If they are immune to knockdown you could always aim at the back on one of your fire immune models.

Scourge could be a solution (an expensive one). Then you do some calculations and you see that against a DEF 5, ARM 19 the Revelator does 43,5 damages (4 cannons + open fire). 3 Redeemers (no fire attacks > no extra dice) against the same target do 49,5 damages (without open fire and without a caster in the middle of the table) and you are 16" away. 37 points vs 33.

I would like to see a 3 redeemers punch a heavy into next week. *i actually ran a list with three redeemers in then and they had to charge into melee and i think all 3 of then barely failed to kill a titan sentry. *

Yeah there are +/- to each option.
If you're running the revalator with the Sevy's I might recommend a shield guard or two as well. Being able to deny Cygnar shadow fire on the rev may just save his wrinkly butt.

I would like to see a 3 redeemers punch a heavy into next week. Have you tried them under Tristan1 with pSevvy yet? It's not quite a classic gunline, but it is glorious. edit: On topic: I'm going to wait for release before I try him out and I'll try him with pSevvy or pReznik first.
