I have had some success with War Wolves in mk2. Sometimes as surprise attacks but sometimes simply to run to engage or to contest zones. They are squishy, though, and often need to run + charge in order to avoid being shot off the table.
I haven't played the Wolf Sworn list more than once but I practically consider the War Wolves an auto-include.
Has anyone else noticed that they attract way too much attention? My opponents seem to confuse them with Arguses and bring a lot of firepower to kill my "light warbeast" only to look very confused when they die after 5 damage (even though I tell them exactly what things are before we start playing).

My opponents have the same thing. thinking they are: 1) warbeasts. 2) Argii 3) "WarWolf activates" "I thought you said Warpwolf" "WaRRRRRR Wolf"

I've been using them in a Tanith wild hunt list with Reeves and WoO. I don't think I'm telling anyone anything new, but the ability to shove Scything Touch on a puppy that can be slingshotted 24" away to apply his ARM debuff is pretty amazing. They're also really easy to trigger between reeves CRA and the ambushing WoO. With just one doggy my wolves in the last game caught Behemoth on their ambush turn, and with the puppy's help one-rounded the awful tosser. I plan to run something very similar with Moh. -und_ed Sorry, n00b question. How are you getting the wolves to move 24"?

I wonder why it fell out of favor. 24" is so far and the boosted attack roll is awesome. Also, the reeve hunter gets a rat 7 and mat 6 + 2 on whatever he charges so it's very accurate. Anyway, glad to hear yall's thoughts. I'm gonna keep at it for now bc it's so fun. I think they fell out of favor in part because we had lots of ways to get things wherever we wanted; this was the era of the double-port, remember. And many of those have been curtailed now, so the war wolf combo gets more useful again. And we didn't have Scything Touch to deliver then, so it was mostly a straight-up attack. Also, as someone mentioned, Reeves sucked in MkII. And 10 points is still a pretty big chunk of points to pay for what is mostly a support package. I'd think you could definitely make it worthwhile by hitting the right targets (key enemy support, for example) but in a list where you weren't already buying the Reeve Hunter for the Wolf Sworn points, I might be struggling to get my points back.

I've been using two or three in my Grayle wolfsworn list and enjoying them a lot. A lot of flexibility gained for a few points. I've been playing SR2017 and flag scoring/terrain/contesting all went up in value. They also can help killing deep support pieces with the aforementioned 24.5" non-feat possible threat range.
My only complaint is that they don't count as wolfsworn.

I've been using them in my Wurmwood list and they have been great for their points. The weight of damage on top of the 2 Reeve CRA's is usually enough to cripple/destroy lights or soften up heavies ready for the Woldwyrds/Stalkers. Well worth their points.
I'm also a bit sad that they don't count as wolf sworn.
