i rescind my previous statement. i will be dropping a drudge unit to min to add two machine wraiths, for flag duty. i tested it and i liked it. i even had a chance to posses a warjack out of a zone, but i was gonna win on that turn regardless.
I played the Cyphon list below last night. I ended up assassinating Kaelyssa, but ultimately I shouldn't have won that game since Cyphon really hates control casters.
I was pleasantly surprised by the Bloat Thrall and Mobius. I didn't use them to corrode my monstrosities as I planned, and instead they took out sentinels pretty much on their own. Machine wraiths were pretty good at being 'beacon's for bloat thrall shots, and for contesting. Against a list with fewer magic guns they can also sit in front of your heavies and help absorb the alpha.
I wasn't a huge fan of 4 Wardens though. Having the shield guards helped protect the bloats and wraiths on the approach, but they don't really do enough work when it's not feat turn.
Good day to you all. So, my game vs Ossyan, we both found out that mage hunter strike force doesn't quite cut it when facing over 60 models. I am pretty excited about that. I am now living the sweet 6 drudge units life. The two machine wraiths are also fantastic. Highly suggest you give them a go if you haven't yet. I am also pairing Thexus with Ossrum for lack of a better idea currently.
I am finally coming back around to Cyphon. I got a list, I just need to check on if I have enough monstrosity models to begin testing it. It has zero drudges. That's right, zero. Its gonna get weird. I will report my experiences back once I have tested it a few times.
I've found that in the current Scenario environment you probably want 3 heavies with Thexus. I'd swap out a Bender unit for a Warden or Subduer.
The Cyphon list looks fun, but I never found the need for Max Benders with him. Dropping that unit to min gives you 4 more points, which you could use to upgrade a Subduer to a Wrecker and still add another Machine Wraith (since you're down a point).
