The theme list is convenient for certain list styles, but I honestly think he is stronger out of theme so he can take some Idrians and punch monks.
I actually think for themes that do the most for the caster, it might be Tristan jack-spam. Just as many melee jacks as you can stuff in, all regenerating D3 a turn and with manifest destiny. 7 fully fueled on feat turn, the rest with 2 focus.

Basically it's just about cost efficient trades and getting the most threat possible while maintaining hitting power. The Templar is a great fortify target, and in the mirror makes enliven trades better, the sanctifier is the fastest option we have for cheap (minus devouts), and is great if you run into incorporeal spam and are list locked. The book is vital and should not be ignored or overlooked. Crusaders are just good. Basically the only way I would make this any more optimized is too add three more Crusaders I'm place of the two non Crusader heavies, but that is way to much overkill.
I LOVE the addition of the Sanctifier in Amon theme lists, i prefer 2! Sure, no infantry for souls sucks, but that speed 5 with reach is just fantastic with Mobility. I believe there will be a surge of Cryx players spamming incorporeal (including Wraith Engines in the Cryx theme) so parry/sidestep Dervishes should be able to chew through plenty within the Sanctifier bubble.
Amon in theme feels incredibly strong and feels like it will be getting a nerf at some point. I'm 9-0 with it in steamroller play so far, and the only games i lost were with list 2. It feels like pre-nerf HR all over again, which scares me a little.
The mirror match you played, was it at SG last weekend? If so, that was totally against me!
