Well I felt like I needed a laugh, and so lets read up on the strategy behind the theme force, as written by Jason "The Gun Carriage works best when slowed down" Soles. In NQ 42. Just so you know I don't play protectorate so I don't know how well these strategies work. So maybe it will be great insight. Edit: Like Maybe I'm missing something...But I probably wouldn't want to park my Unit into Difficult terrain and hope my opponent doesn't know what my rules are. Maybe I'm missing something? Again I don't play protectorate. Attachments:

Describes how you should just buy all the cavalry models Describes vengers innate abilities - no benefit from theme Describes Gravus - no benefit from theme and not free solo Describes Gravus/seneschal interaction - nothing to do With theme Describes not using jacks - greatest benefit from theme with random blessed weapons Describes 2" increase to deployment... random afterthought
He is unaware that VoJ will just be tagged on to the exemplar theme because it's so poor
Rant done... will have become more reasonable by next post

What I learned today from PPS_Strawman
Buy 2 Units of Vengers. Vengers are the only usefull exemplar. This theme is designed around Vengers synergy. Warjacks are not for this theme. (Lolwut?) Calvary is life Pay 160 dollars for 2 Max units if Vengers. Rely on my opponent to make a dumb decision and give me free pathfinder and DPS buff while I sit in a forest that also prevents me from being a threat.
This tactica shows me exactly why this theme is pitiful.
I tried to laugh but I'm just sitting here with my bucket of menoth approved ice cream crying softly on the couch with my 2 Units of cinerators and Bastions.

why pp didn't just delete PoM faction, if they hate this faction so much?

why pp didn't just delete PoM faction, if they hate this faction so much? I won't go that far but I have been less than pleased with the way the faction has gone in mk3, if I didn't love my Retribution so much (had them since they launched at Gencon 09), I would likely have quit the game.

I'm gonna start a Collection: Jason "Shield the Gun Carriage with Winter Guard" Soles Jason "Run your Vengers into a Forest" Soles. Make it your signature. In defense of PPS_Strawman. The interaction between gravus and seneschals is something new peeps don't know about. So +1 there. It's a good interaction. If only we had a cheaper book to abuse it. Negative 1 million for putting your cav in rough terrain. Like the Firetruck? Way to put yourself into a shitty situation for no reason or benefit.

Negative 1 million for putting your cav in rough terrain. Like the Firetruck? Way to put yourself into a shitty situation for no reason or benefit. Its brilliant oxymoronic strategy. The idea it to run into terrain to protect yourself from enemy retaliation (Diff terrain Helps Against Charges, Or Provides Cover or Concealment or is a forest)...Of course that protection would make HITTING the vengers more difficult, in turn making it so the odds of you gaining pathfinder and the other thing, ALSO unlikely thus trapping you inside.

I'll write you a better article for strategy right now. "Playing this theme is like taking a hammer and swinging it at your opponent's miniatures. They can try to swat it away but they will hurt themselves in the process. Use a caster that helps deliver your hammer to their face. Like thyra or vindictus for speed buff. Or take a caster that will cause them more pain if they try to swat it away like vindictus. Or take a caster that makes your hammer have a sharp point like Kreoss3. Whatever flavor of hammer you like please enjoy your new Shiny hammer cause your opponent won't."

While I like the place that the Protectorate is in overall, the theme force does feel 'boring'. And nothing in this article discusses why I want to take the theme force, outside of 'free points'. That said, my Kreoss3 list (which I love dearly) is already in theme, so I get some new benefits. Reznik2 is an interesting option...

He just.....sold vengers at me. Really hard. Is he trolling us again? Who, when met with an errant boat screening 2 units of Kreoss 3's vengers, VOLUNTARILY GIVES THEM PATHFINDER instead of just taking out the errants and giving Kreoss the finger?
