I recently purchased a Hurricane and excitedly spent an evening cleaning up and building the kit. I love the model and have put him on the board a handful of times and had some good fun with him. While I will continue to enjoy experimenting with him and forming my own opinion, I wouldn't mind learning of others' ideas about his use and viability. I haven't seen much talk about Hurricanes lately, and while the old PP forums had plenty of threads about him before his release, they are obviously not an available source of info and ideas now.
I know many compare him to Stormwall for obvious (and good) reasons and love their Stormwalls to a degree that the Hurricane doesn't get a look-in. That's fair enough. Each to their own. However, I want to make the most out my new lightning slinger and not just get my Stormwall back out and relegate my latest purchase to the 'maybe one day' collection.
Who do you think runs the Hurricane best and with what company in-list? So far, I've tried him with Nemo 3, Hayley 2 and Darius, but I plan on trying him with as many casters as I can. Jakes 2, Sturgis, Stryker 1 & 2 are all yet to be played with it.
What do you find works best with the Hurricane? What lessons have you learned with it? Which caster cranks it up to 11 in your opinion?
Perfectly happy to hear Stormwall/Hurricane comparisons, but would rather this thread didn't devolve into a 'take Stormwall, Hurricane sucks' conversation. I'm well aware of how awesome the Stormwall is but want to improve my knowledge and useage of the Hurricane.

I tried him out for a spin with Caine3 a couple days ago. I have to say, +3 mat and pow on pow 13 aoe4 guns and the storm emitters is nothing to sneeze at.

I've been using mine enthusiastically with Haley2, knocking things down and shooting them to death. He has 2 momentum guns. I've gotten more assasinations than EVER before since I've been playing him. He's also great for killing heavies, lights, and infantry. I'd rather have Storm Pods than an arc node and Electroleaps than cortex damage, but his gun suite is way better than Stormwall's.

The hurricane is a beast, blast damage is wonderful to have and the slam-guns are awesome to set up assassinations. The arc nodei nice but not essential, the bigget drawback IMHO is having only RNG12 on the eclectro guns.

I've proxied a Hurricane with Stryker1 a couple of times. It's fun. I like it with pStryker because it gives him an arcnode for earthquake and the Hurricane loves snipe.
I think both of our colossals are awesome. The Hurricane has more raw power, but the Stormwall has good control elements.

In the infantrymachine meta, where you can see a lots of non-heavy melee infantries, Stormwall is almost always better than Hurricane unless you want to save 10 points for a Lancer.
But, we have the diffrent situation. Both Stormwall and Hurricane are not good at killing the infantry, but just for kill Hurricane does it slightly better. So against shooter units Hurricane would be better. And Hurricane can crack armor better than Stormwall in distance. Not to mention about its Arc Node. So I think that generally you want Hurricane over Stormwall. It seems that Stormwall still able to persecute Cryx, though.

The hurricane kills infantry more effectively than the Stormwall via AOEs and slamming infantry into other models. I find very little reasons to use a stormwall

After playing my hurricane I can easily say I'll be reaching for him over the stormwall almost every time. The momentum pow 16's are just that good and I do get mileage out of the arc node as well.
Some ideas for lists where he shines:
- Stryker1 loves the ability to get earthquake up field while still having a colossal. Personally I run him with one of each for the best of both worlds. - Nemo3 makes great use of the arc node and the lightning guns. - Darius being able to jack hammer other jacks through the hurricane is pretty good. Usually by the time you need to jackhammer the colossal itself he doesn't mind being up 6" behind it. Also consider knocking a target down with a power attack from the hurricane and then you can jackhammer through the node to your heart's content. - Haley1 for chain lightning and disruption arcing - Nemo1/2 for arcing
Most others are just interactions with the guns and ignoring the arc node aspect. That's still totally legit with this bad boy though.

I definitely agree with this sentiment. I'll still use my Stormwall, but when I'm creating lists I'm reaching for the Hurricane first almost every time. He's a more straightforward bully than the Stormwall, but he does it so well!

If you play against a lot of Cygnar then the Stormwall might pip the Hurricane due to the fact that it's guns are non-lightning

We're 14 good mates who have all the factions represented with side armies and the like. While there are 2 other smaller Cygnar forces here, they aren't main armies and so electrical immunity isn't a huge deal in these parts. With that said, it will definitely be a huge factor for some.
