We agree that PP books in the future won't have any model stats in them at all, right? I don't know. Do we? Is that a thing?

I don't know. Do we? Is that a thing? I think it is a thing. Now that they are doing the CID and having the model rules be free and subject to change very soon before the physical model is released, they will no longer be packing stat cards with the models or printing rules in books. Basically they are accepting the world of living rules, where everything printed will soon be obsolete, so no point in printing it. That's what they said back when they announced the CID as I recall.

Yeah, the speed with which the books become obsolete now is really too bad. I just got a friend into the game who wanted to pick up the awesome hardcover Prime. But when I showed him the 3 sets of errata notes since the book came out, he opted out, and is sticking to the free pdf version. You miss out on the extras vs the digest version, but it wasn't worth it for him. I own the mk2 faction books, but decided against the mk3 versions for this same reason.

We agree that PP books in the future won't have any model stats in them at all, right? I was able to acquire the .PDF for Cygnar's Command. (I am planning on buy it, even before I saw its official contents.) I think its going to turn into more of a fluff/concept (making of)/Painting guide. They added a small photo on Jack Descriptions which is a metal "stamping" of their run time during combat and extra fluff. I think they are headed down the fluff trail, which im 100% okay with!

We agree that PP books in the future won't have any model stats in them at all, right? Has that been confirmed? I can refer to the original Matt Wilson insider: privateerpress.com/community/privateer-insider/insider-12-21-2016What we love about miniatures games is that there is a physical component; it’s what draws many of us to the tabletop in the first place. We also know that players invest their time and money into the models, and we’re committed to protecting that investment. Unfortunately, when rules are associated with a model, the perceived value of the model is affected by its performance on the tabletop based on those rules. If the rules fail to stand up to scrutiny, then the model itself is condemned. But by moving away from rules printed on paper and embracing the technology that will allow us to deliver and update rules digitally, we can maintain a gaming experience on the tabletop that is as up to date and balanced as any video game. To achieve this result, we need to make two significant changes to the way we publish products. First, we will stop printing model rules and stats in books. [...]

I think this is a case where they decided to change directions in the middle of a print run, so they are stuck following this direction until all factions get both the command and theme books, which is rough. Moving forward, I imagine we will get more comprehensive fluff/hobby guide books, rather than the "a little of all things but not really enough to justify it" that we have now.

Could not imagine myself buying them. As far as i know there is, aside from maybe a really short story (for the new locks) and description of our new models, nothing new in it?! I will probably read the most interesting stuff in some minutes at my LGS.
