As above i just can't see the value in these new books. I don't want to start another shit on pp thread just wondering if anyone has purchased one especially if they got real value from it. I really loved the old books still like to read my MKII ones. Discuss:)

Theme books aren't out yet, so I think noone can have purchased them.  If you are talking about command books, they have fluff inside, and that interests a lot of people (me included). That said, I agree that with Warroom out, the value of Command books is appreciated only in the spirit of collectionism and expecially interest and coinvolgement in the game itself, a thing that PP is undermining a lot with its recent decisions looking at the myriads of topics opent by players that seem to have lost their enthusiasm. |

I have purchased the new command book and will likely purchase them for most or all of the factions I play. The reason for this is mostly because I love the fluff. Sure War room is where I go for rules and all that, hell I don't even use cards anymore really, but I love to read those little kernals of story. I even reread them periodically and I like to do it with a real life book. I'll read a pdf if that's all I can find but not my preference. Maybe it's the roleplayer in me.

I purchased for the factions I own (Trolls and Menoth, soon Khador) but probably wont for the factions I don't. Warroom (and on line free cards) removed that requirement.

I think I should also mention that I buy any mark 1 and mark2 books that I come across for my factions. Obviously, only if I don't already have a copy.

I stopped buying the books after war room came out. I'll probably buy the faction books though, because the faction-specific stuff is pretty good to know, and I can use it for IKRPG.

Nope, and its quickly become apparent that they, sans the fluff, will rapidly become obsolescent as the years go buy as larger amounts of errata build up. That kinda annoys me for LGS as they now have to put up with dead product, like how the faction decks for mk3 have almost become, especially the Skorne one.

I think that they still have value, as the world of the Iron Kingdoms is greater than just Warmachine (Grind, IKRPG, the board games, the novels, etc.) but I would like to see them either come down in cost or be compiled into two large books (Hordes and Warmachine). I don't think the current fluff contents justify the price for me, but if you are super into the world, I could definitely see it.

I enjoy the art and what fluff there is. Can't stand war room, but even so rules aren't my main reason for getting book.

I haven't yet, but I will get the Cryx and Khador books for the fluff and pictures. I hadn't considered the dynamic obsolescence of the rule information in the books until just now; I am used to books becoming obsolete upon revision change. I used to buy every new book, regardless of faction (although I only got softbacks for Hordes materials, as I have no Hordes armies). I will not be buying them like I did in the past.

I'll likely get the Khador Command book when it comes out next month-ish, but other purchases will depend on how much of a difference/improvement it is over what I've already got. New cards alone won't sell it, as I've already got those on War Room.
If it looks like it's worth it, then I may consider the books for Mercenaries and Circle which I also dabble in.

I planned to purchase the ones for the factions I owned. I picked up the Circle book and enjoyed it. That said, now that you don't need them for model statistics, I would have liked to have had more of the fluff. These books are a "reboot" for the factions for Mk3 and it would have been nice to see a more detailed history to fill people in on the back story of the faction. As they stand, you still need to dig through old books to get the complete backstory. Going forward, I'd like to see a book that tried to summarize more of the faction storyline from past books (at least from Mk1 & Mk2) in one place. I like them for the fluff and now that you don't need the model statistics, it would be nice to see them put in more fluff details! I like that stuff!

Coming from a total Newbie, Im hoping to just gain some Fluff knowledge and maybe understand how other models work and where they fit into lists or why wouldnt they. Just bought a mint conditioned MKII Cygnar book for under $10, and want to buy the newest here soon.
Anyone know if it can be bought straight from PP? I can find the gallery listing but not a Add to cart button anywhere.

I have not purchased any of the books, yet. I would like to pick up the Trollbloods and Cygnar books at some point. Has anyone purchased either of these books? If so what did you think?

I picked up the Trollbloods book and enjoyed it. It was nice to see where they had gotten to in the world/timeline. Most of the stats are there and i find it easier to flip through a book than war room or the cards. I'm happy with it.
That said, I used to buy all the books for all the factions and I wont be doing that any more. With the advent of free cards, I will look up anything I need to know about other factions there.
