Thanks for doing that write up, been trying to decide if I'm playing legion or convergence at Nova and this list my lean me to legion. I'm fairly sold on the swordsmen now but will definitely at least test the Hellmouth out as a replacement. Great games

Glad you guys enjoyed.
If you're going to run with this list, I have two pieces of advice:
1) Lots of practice! The twins are easily the most complex and difficult caster I've played across three factions. I love them, but it can be daunting. They have the ability to change playstyles mid-game, and knowing when to do so is crucial to making them work. The low model count also heavily punishes small mistakes (like the bad spot I got into in the semi-finals. three Raptors down and suddenly my options went to hell). For contrast, I played Fyanna with only 4 games under belt with her - I could never do that with the twins.
2) look at your pairing and weigh up if you really need the Naga. I've played a similar version where I trade out the Naga for a Hellmouth plus an extra shepherd and martyr, and in about two thirds of my games I'd prefer the hellmouth and solos variant. I chose the Naga because I wanted to play most of my games with the twins and it lets me beat down Arcane Shield and Defender's ward, but if I was going to play 50-50 with my other list I'd have gone with the Hellmouth.
Looking forward to reading some batreps of other folks with the twins. I'm convinced they're the most fun a gamer can have with his pants on.

Nice thanks for the advice. Yeah convergence was my first faction so I have no issues putting up with learning curve at this point. I'm leaning towards a Lylyth 2 pairing I think will be really nice for the new SR. I expect her to play great into new cryx and most ret. My only real concern there is I feel like a lot of the cygnar natchups with her might be coin flippy, and twins doesn't help much in that match-up. I'll run some games and probably make a thread win reports when I get the games in. Local SR next week to get some labing done.

Lekker brazo, great to see a report from my neck of the woods, and a really good read. I like the style as it brings it a bit more to life, as well as giving me insight into your thoughts. The twins bring such a toolkit for any situation. Wraithbane, flare, marked for death, and dragon's breath add a lot of flexibility. I do think I would prefer a hellmouth rather than the swordsmen as it brings the blightbringer into play a bit more and allows it to be a bit more than a glorified pie-plate chucker, but if the swords work for you, who are we to disagree Is the afflictor in your Fyanna list just for a points-filler to get the extra solo? Maybe try two harriers and see how they work. I've used them as points-fillers with Fifi before, and I really like the way they jam things out on feat turn. They're basically ghetto-raeks in this case.

Heya Jan.
Like I've said before, if I want the Hellmouth (and yes, I really did want the Hellmouth in a lot of games - so many shield guards around make it really tricky to land the blighty pie plate) I'll drop the Naga for it. The swords are pretty essential if I need to pull Rhyas back a bit (exactly what I did in our game. Jan here is the Xerxis / Makeda player).
The afflictor is a neat filler for the theme, but I really like what it brings. It's a cheap beast that is fairly hard to kill on feat turn, can cause lots of problems with a spawned incubus, and I generally couldn't care if it catches a bullet either at 6 points. At that price it can even function as a cheap animus bot.

Amazing write-up.! Really enjoyed it and gratz to your victories. I really want to get into the Twins as i really like their models but i am kinda daunted by their capabilities. Except heavy gunlines,is there another generic match up you would avoid?Heavy armor lets say? Also what do you think of WrongEye and Snapjaw?Do you think its worth changing the list a bit to fit them in,or you consider it works better the way it is right now? I understand Rhyas is doing the heavy work, but when do you say:okay, these many she cannot handle? Sorry for my absurd amount of questions,i am just really intrigued to learn from someone who seems to have *mastered* the twins

Hiya With. I'm always happy to chat Twins, so thanks for getting stuck in. 1) Generic matchup to avoid. I try to avoid three things: Dedicated gunlines (although often that is not as bad as it sounds, but I particularly try to avoid anything that can shoot the blightbringer off the table at long range); Easy RFP for Rhyas (makes trollbloods a very nervous game) but that too can be played around (like playing into Reznik1 - he can RFP Rhyas, but if you're killing 2 heavies then it's worthwhile anyway) and lastly easy murders of Rhyas (knockdown / stationary feats are problems. Sorscha1 is a particlarly tricky feat, as she can kill Rhyas herself and then shoot to death a stationary Saeryn). While typing this, btw, I just had a neat idea. Against a butcher3 / Reznik RFP monster, let Rhyas go in and murder stuff, then feat to swap places and have a DEF 16 (or 18) Saeryn tank it up with 7 transfers, while Rhyas watches from 8" away, ready to pounce. These girls just never stop giving opportunities for neat plays... so much for mastering them, I'm discovering new shinies as we discuss them 2) Wrong-Eye and Snappy I love this duo, and if I ever go back to a non-blightbringer build they will be an auto-include. Trying to kill Rhyas at DEF 18 under star-crossed is a special kind of hilarity that I think everybody wants in their life. Sadly there is no way I can fit them into the blighty list without imo weakening the list. In order to do it I'd have to drop the swordies and the Naga / Hellmouth (whichever variant I'm playing), which is giving up too much just to double down on a single tactic. I love the twins' versatility, so this is running contrary to their primary advantage imo. 3) How many is too many? Honestly I've never faced a list yet that I thought the twins couldn't chew through. I get more nervous about control feats (Ragnor, Haley2...) then about spam. I'd be curious to see if she could play into Amon ad-raza crusader spam (one of our local Menoth players has been proxying it recently), but my suspicion is a very definite "yes". Between a flashing blade weaponmaster, 6 swordsmen weaponmasters and 5 cavalry weaponmasters, all of whom can take a +2 STR boost from the blightbringer I have enough hitting power to deal with ARM / box spam. And I haven't even factored in yet the late-game contribution of a gargantuan in melee. Consider the last game, with a well-played Xerxis that neutered a lot of Rhyas' power through god use of the agonizer - even in that tanky environment with my biggest hitter hamstrung, the list hits hard enough to still win the grind. Give the girls some table-time and let me know how they're treating you. I'm busy indulging in the OP everything of Circle currently (I swear, two years straight and Circle christmas just never ends. Kaya3 is stupid beyond belief) but I'll be watching this space to see who comes up with what using my favourite caster(s). -und_ed
