Hi guys, I have a sizeable Khador and Cryx army. Both are about 300 pts in size. Khador is my first Warmahordes army and went with the basic red khador scheme. While My Cryx went with a tried and true alternate color scheme, bone colored cryx. Starting my first hordes faction of trollbloods so i figured out that i want to try my own color scheme. I came up with the idea of colored armor. Saw red armored trolls on google search. Liked how it turned out but i already have khador for reds. Blue armor conflicting with blue troll skin. So decided to try green armor. Started with impaler and axer. I want your opinions on these color scheme. Let me know how do you like them. Cheers, 3Xhume

It sounds interesting but I really can't say much because I haven't seen the minis or photos of them.

Your blue, yellow, rucksack tan are very rich colors that work well with each other. The mint green of the armor seems washed out compared to the stronger colors. It reminds me of my ogrun bokur. I painted his armor with a nice rich brown but it ended up looking like he is wearing leather armor. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to fix him.

Look up Trollock's Trolls(pg. 3) and Arizona Troll(pg. 2) on the Privateer Press painting forum. Both of these guys paint green trolls, but the reason I think it will help you to study their stuff is because they use a limited palette and still have stunningly beautiful models. Trollock uses a more limited palette and Arizona Troll uses fairly complex mixes of paint that involves mixing a little of all of the dominant colors in the different colors. Don't misunderstand me, I like the strong colors you've used, it's just too easy for the color scheme to look like a bag of skittles with a bunch of dominant colors all vying for the observer's attention.
