Nothing to see here folks. Sure, Narn can get you out of a scrape, no doubt that is true, and easy to agree with. Of course Griffons are the light jack to take. Reach is invaluable when you yourself want to tie up your opponent. Add higher arm, pathfinder and MaT on the charge. That MaT happens to be more focus efficient because you are less likely to need to boost. Talking nonsense is silly, especially if less experienced players take you seriously. On the other hand, they will quickly find the folly of following this advice. Play Infiltrators with Thyron. And go right at your opponent. That's the point. Huh?

The mini-tournament is over. 1st game: Kaelyssa vs. Caine1 (won by casterkill, cp 1-0) 2nd game: Thyron vs. Kallus1 (lost to scenario (cp 0-6) 3rd game: Thyron vs. Ragnor1: Band of Heroes (lost to casterkill, cp 10-5) 4th game: Thyron vs. Blaize 1(won by casterkill, cp 5-1) Thoughts: - Kallus1 Hellmouths and Ragnor1 EBDT are sooo broken in SR2017 . Seriously speaking, I probably need to tech up against them in the future. - Theme takedown on MHA makes them very good against weapon crews or other unit leaders. - Onslaught doesn't add pathfinder to side steps. Small, but very important rule. - Assail sometimes makes Shyeel jacks too fast for Elara1 --> Next time I will try Vyre jacks. Aspis also seem very good since only the first hit needs to happen in Elara1 control range to trigger Speed of Death. - Refuge on Elara1 jacks solved the out of control issue completely. - MHSF still dies stray blast dmg way too easily. Many of my opponents purposefully missed their shots on my jacks just to get some good scatters.

Welcome to Mage Hunters - they die by the bushelful to pretty much anything! I like to take gobs of them to compensate.

I made this list today. I had two aims with this list. 1, use the models I already owned. 2, Make a list that when I drop it people need ask what things do. After playing in several tournaments / locals etc, I have found that unless we are playing in hard as nails organised events. (im guessing most of us arn't) the lists that do the best are the ones least understood. Using that logic, I have used our least popular theme, with some of our lesser known / used models. All feedback is welcome It is yet to be tested. I feel one the best strengths this list has, is it anonymity. Retribution of Scyrah - Sorry what does it do? Theme: Shadows of the Retribution 2 / 2 Free Cards 75 / 75 Army Thyron, Sword of Truth - WJ: +27 - Griffon - PC: 8 (Battlegroup Points Used: 😎 - Griffon - PC: 8 (Battlegroup Points Used: 😎 - Banshee - PC: 18 (Battlegroup Points Used: 11) - Phoenix - PC: 18 Arcanist Mechanik - PC: 2 Arcanist Mechanik - PC: 2 Arcanist Mechanik - PC: 2 Narn, Mage Hunter of Ios - PC: 0 Mage Hunter Assassin - PC: 0 Mage Hunter Assassin - PC: 4 Mage Hunter Strike Force - Leader & 9 Grunts: 16 - Mage Hunter Strike Force Commander - PC: 4 Mage Hunter Infiltrators - Leader & 9 Grunts: 13 - Eiryss, Mage Hunter Commander - PC: 6 - Soulless Escort - PC: 1 THEME: Shadows of the Retribution

Ow and it would be paired with Rahn and Vyros 2, Rahn to drop into serious Arm skew, Vyros into Hordes or anything I know I can take with either of my other lists.

While I don't dislike the list, I have to ask why Thyron? He is on a medium base, your army can't screen him besides the jacks and he doesn't have access to the support pieces that allow him to play far up the board like a Fane Kight Guardian and Lys Healer.

The only true path is Garryth for Shadows of the Retribution. He is the way and the light.

This is true. He plays as a second / third wave model. Handing out buffs to the solos etc / fueling the Jacks etc. Try to alpha a few of the key targets on the board then moving forward to take out the remains. Especially moving into SR2017, and the slightly less pressure to be on objectives asap.

I had my first game under Theme and threw it into a Durgen Bunny-spam/dude-spam list.
Retribution Army List:
Thyron - Banshee - Griffon - Griffon Arcanists x 2 MHA x 2 (free) Narn (free) MHI (full) + Eiryss3 + Soulless MHSF (full) + CA MHSF (full) + CA
Opponent's List:
Durgen - Driller x 2 - Blaster x 2 - Gunner x 2 - Reinholdt Gorman Ragman Rhupert Gobber Tinker A+H Steelhead Halbs (full) x 2
Overview: In this battle of Dude-machine, I won the roll-off and chose to go first, not quite appreciating the carpet-bombing Durgen can accomplish with Reinholdt. MHI ran forward up the middle, flanked by each MHSF squad, the remainder moving up behind. On Turn 2, three squads of shooting and charging under Feat later, it was largely the BG (several bunnies injured), solos and remnants of the Halbs; I'll admit this was a Feat that didn't accomplish much. By the end of it, it took an MHA charging a gap and a janky charge from an Assailed Griffon with only two Focus across the backfield onto Reinholdt, able to Cleave into Durgen's back arc and bought attacks that sealed it, with me up 3-0 on CPs (SR 2016).
Thoughts: Dude-machine..... aside from the clock killer (we didn't play on clock), it has surprising play into the Bunny-spam. Mistakes were made on both sides though. I'm going to have learn to unpack and play through Turn 2 and into Turn 3 much faster. So much Stealth and AD, it made going first even stronger. Thyron played much less a role than expected, but Assail was a game changer. Durgen's Primed spell give the middle finger to the Shadows' RFP ability, particularly with only a 0.5 inch mellee versus the 3" AOE Primed causes on Disabled.

I don't mean to call you out on this, man, but four bunnies does not equal "spam". Not when they are only 6 pts each

Having just returned from the Iron Moot, Cygnar and Cryx were everywhere and I'll be looking at Shadows of the Retribution for some answers. MHI have enough P+S to deal with Banes and Takedown from the Theme solves recursion issues (as an added bonus, it frustrates Skorne murder kittens).
Both Ghyrrshyld and Kaelyssa offer anti-Stealth into Cryx (Coven and Deneghra1 were the most popular with a sprinkling of Goreshade2). Into Cygnar, anti-magic and Backlash + Colossal seems like it will make both Stryker1 and Haley2 cry. I also heard murmurings of Issyria in theme (to solve Cygnar with Blinding Light) and Ossyan for the anti-Colossal feat and extra RFP through Shatterstorm.

Kaelyssa in Shadows could be a thing once the new Vyre Lights happen in order to have something decent to put on Elara1.
